Lavender and vineyards in the heart of Oltrepò Pavese
Azienda Agricola La Mandorla is located in Montecalvo Versiggia, in the hills of the Oltrepò Pavese, an area long associated with vine cultivation. Alongside its winemaking tradition, the farm grows Lavandula Angustifolia Officinale, a prized variety of lavender from which essential oil and hydrosol are produced.
For over five generations, we have cultivated the land with commitment and dedication, following a simple and practical approach: growing, harvesting, and processing. Every product is created this way, with respect for nature, the rhythm of the seasons, and the land to which we are deeply connected.
Between vineyards and fields of Lavandula, the essence of who we are is born
Our cultivations
Two different crops, but both rooted in the same territory: on one side, Lavandula Angustifolia Officinale, a distinctive and alternative choice for this area; on the other, the vine, a historic presence in Oltrepò Pavese and part of the farm’s agricultural identity. Altitude, sun exposure, soil slope, and a breezy climate all contribute to the quality of the crops and to the enhancement of the raw materials.
Lavender
Lavender is now one of the farm’s main crops.
We cultivate Lavandula angustifolia officinalis, a variety valued for its fine, balanced, and long-lasting aromatic profile. The plants are carefully tended throughout their entire growth cycle, up to the harvest, which takes place when the flowers best express their characteristics.
Roots in the vineyard
Alongside lavender, the vineyards remain an essential part of the farm’s agricultural work: a long-standing, tangible presence rooted in the land, bridging the company’s past and present.
They reflect the family’s continuity, the deep connection to the hills of Oltrepò Pavese, and an agricultural tradition passed down through generations.
